1/700 Mitsubishi Ki-21-IIb (late) "Sally" IJA Bomber - (x3) 3D P
[Ki21-2-700]

Earlier operations in China, Burma and India had shown that the initial Ki-21 bombers woefully short of adequate defensive armament. The Ki-21-IIb was an improved version of the Ki-21 that had the original long "greenhouse" enclosure replaced by a large conical dorsal turret containing a 12.7mm machine gun that was intended to address the problem. Although hopelessly outclassed during the last few years of the war, the Ki-21 continued to serve some units effectively including an aircraft in one Philippines-based group that claimed three Allied submarine kills in 1943 and 1944.

Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, check out the well proportioned model including the detailed canopy, glazed front, rear dorsal turret, engines, and even the tiny tail wheel! The landing gear is represented in the retracted, in-flight position but it should be fairly straight forward to add photo etch parts for a "gear down" rendition, perfect for an air base diorama.

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
