Although the A-20 Havoc had already been blooded in combat with the Armeé de l'Air (as the DB-7/7A) and the Royal Air Force's Boston's, it wasn't until the advent of the A-20G model that production really hit its stride with 2,850 examples being produced in 1942 alone. The exploits of A-20s in the Pacific against Japanese shipping and ground targets, including the use "parafrags", proved devastatingly effective. In Europe, the Ninth Air Force also made good use of them in tactical sorties over the continent as a prelude to D-Day where they proved particularly successful in interdiction attacks, cutting enemy communications and pounding enemy airfields in low-level strikes.

These 3D printed models require no assembly but compare favorably with injection molded kits and exceed the detail of most comparable resin and white metal models by a good measure. Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills but check out the well proportioned model including the detailed canopy, the Martin dorsal turret, the engines and, incredibly, four tiny 20-mm M2 cannon in the nose!

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene. The landing gear is represented in the retracted, in-flight position but it should be fairly straight forward to add photo etch parts for a "gear down" rendition, perfect for an air base diorama.
