1/700 Northrop BT-1 Dive Bomber (x4)
[Bt1-700-x4]

Although largely forgotten today, the BT-1 was the first all-metal aircraft to fly for the US Navy. In fact, it was prominently featured in the 1940 movie "Dive Bomber" which has some superb technicolor footage of these in their outstanding pre-war "yellow wing" scheme. Although the BT-1 proved to be completely unsuitable for carrier operations because of its performance at slow speeds (think carrier landings!), its successor, the SBD, wrote itself into the pages of USN history.

This 4-piece set actually includes four different landing gear down models - (x3) with the canopy closed and (x1) with the canopy open at the pilot and gunner positions (pilot and gunner figures not included!). Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, we hope that we've been able to show the well proportioned model including the detailed (open and closed) canopy, the engine cowling, wings complete with perforated dive flaps, the tail assembly and especially the landing gear!

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
