1/700 Vought SB2U Vindicator (x4)
[Sb2u-700]

The Vought SB2U Vindicator became the US Navy's first operational monoplane dive bomber when it entered service in 1937. Vindicator squadrons served with four US Navy aircraft carriers including the USS Lexington (CV-2), USS Saratoga (CV-3), USS Ranger (CV-4) and USS Wasp (CV-7). The Vindicators aboard the Lexington and Saratoga were replaced by Douglas SBDs in early 1941 but remained operational on the Ranger and Wasp through early 1942. Although already considered obsolete, Marine squadron VMSB-241 used the Vindicator in combat at the Battle of Midway in June 1942, suffering heavy losses in their attacks on Japanese warships.

The set offered here actually includes three different types of gear down models: (x2) Closed Canopy, (x1) Open Canopy and (x1) Folded Wings. Although photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, check out the well proportioned model including the fuselage with detailed canopy complete with the telescope sight, the wings with extended landing gear, the tail assembly and even the tiny tail wheel! Camo cards for two different aircraft are included.

While the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene. The models may still have some powder and oil-like agent on them that needs to be removed by washing in warm water with a drop of detergent in it.

NOTE: We currently maintain limited inventories of most items, but some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
