1/350 Douglas SBD Dauntless - (x2) 3D Printed
[Sbd3-350]

In terms of both numbers and impact, the Douglas SBD Dauntless was America's most important naval aircraft during the first critical year of the Second World War. In fact, at the start of the war, half of the aircraft on board the US carriers were SBDs. While SBD officially stood for Scout/Bomber Douglas, its pilots often called the type 'Slow But Deadly'. As dive bombers, they conducted high-payoff, high-risk attacks on Japanese shipping and land targets including the sinking of four Japanese carriers at Midway.

While several of the major model companies have already produced the the SBD Dauntless in 1/350th scale, the set offered here includes two 3D printed SBD models complete with open canopies and crew. These should bring additional realism to the decks of the excellent 1/350 aircraft carriers, particularly when combined with the excellent 1/350 USN Aircraft PE frets available from Tom's Modelworks and WEM.

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
