1/700 S-75 Dvina (SA-2 Guideline) Transporter (x2)
[S75-700-Truc]

The S-75 Dvina (NATO reporting name SA-2 Guideline) was first deployed by the Soviet Union in 1957 and has since become the most widely deployed and successful air defense system in history. A Taiwanese RB-57D became the S-75's first victim when it was shot down at an altitude of 65,600 ft. (20 km) by three V-750s over China on 7 October 1959 although the loss was attributed to Chinese fighter aircraft at the time to keep the S-75 program secret. The system gained international fame when a newer, longer-range, higher-altitude V-750VN missile shot down a high-altitude US Air Force U-2 piloted by Francis Gary Powers overflying the Soviet Union on 1 May 1960. The S-75 was also deployed in Cuba where on 27 October 1962 one shot down another U-2 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, nearly precipitating nuclear war. S-75s were extensively used by the North Vietnamese against American air attacks against Hanoi and Haiphong in the Vietnam War.

We believe that these are the first SA-2 Guideline Transporter models ever produced in 1/700 scale. This set actually contains three different models: (x2) SA-2 missiles, (x2) PR-11 Tractor Cabs and (x2) Missile-Carrier Trailers. The 3D printed models offered here compare very favorably with comparable WEM resin model and Pit-Road white metal models and, in fact, likely surpass both by a good margin but we've posted high resolution photos so you can judge for yourself. While photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, check out the well proportioned models including the slender SA-2 with delicate stabilizing fins, the highly detailed PR-11 Transloader including the Tractor cab complete with doors, headlamps, fenders, treaded heavy-duty tires and the separate Missile-Carrier Trailer with side ladders, specially designed missile-carrier rail and heavy-duty tires.

While the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene. The models may still have some powder and oil-like agent on them that can easily be removed by washing in warm water with a drop of detergent added.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
