1/700 Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor (x2)
[Fw200-700]

The Fw200 provided a major boost to transatlantic air travel when it became the first land-based passenger plane to fly non-stop from Berlin to New York in 1938. The outbreak of war put an end to the spread of this highly promising commercial airplane and forced it instead into the role of maritime reconnaissance-bomber, a role for which it was ill-suited. Surprisingly, such was its success as a commerce raider that it was referred to by Winston Churchill as the 'Scourge of the Atlantic'. Indeed, the Condor required an inordinate effort on the part of the Allies before its threat was finally nullified, and by that time it was responsible for sinking an immense tonnage of Allied shipping. Despite little more than a respectable endurance, in its heyday the Condor, co-operating with U-Boat packs, posed a major threat to Britain's survival.

Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, check out the well proportioned model including the fuselage complete with a detailed cockpit and the huge HDL 151 dorsal turret, windows, doors, the offset ventral gondola; the wings and engine nacelles and tail assembly.

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
