1/700 Dornier Do 217K-2 w/'Fritz X' Guided Missiles (x3)
[Do217-700]

The Do 217K-2 was an advanced version of the Do 17 bomber specifically designed to deliver one of history's first operationally used stand-off missiles, the Fritz X, which was developed for use against Allied shipping. The Fritz X was actually a steerable, free-fall, 3,454 lb armor piercing bomb that could be launched from over 5-1/2 miles, approaching the target at speeds of up to 630 mph. Units flying the Do 217K-2 commenced operations in the Bay of Biscay and in the Mediterranean in late August 1943 and achieved some success against Allied targets notably including the sinking of the Italian battleship Roma (and damaging the Italia) on September 9, 1943 with Fritz X missiles.

Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, check out the well proportioned model including the detailed canopy, turrets, engines, tail assembly and, in particular, the tiny but beautifully rendered Fritz X missiles under the wings!

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
