1/700 Mitsubishi Ki-21-Ia "Sally" IJA Bomber - (x3) 3D Printed
[Ki21-1-700]

The Mitsubishi Type 97 Heavy Bomber was, in its heyday, the backbone of the strongest air arm in the Far East; the Japanese Army Air Force. Entering service in 1937, it was a formidable bomber by any standard. It fought the Russians at Changkufeng and Nomohan; it was in action throughout the "Chinese Incident", and at the commencement of the Pacific War it was the mainstay of the JAAF heavy bomber force.

Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, check out the well proportioned model including the detailed canopy, glazed front, rear dorsal "greenhouse", engines, and even the tiny tail wheel!

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene. The landing gear on these is represented in the retracted, in-flight position but it should be fairly straight forward to add photo etch parts for a "gear down" rendition, perfect for a IJA air base diorama.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
