1/700 Lockheed Hudson Patrol Bomber - (x3) 3D Printed
[Hudson-700]

Designed as a light bomber, the Hudsons were particularly effective as maritime patrol bombers with over 27 U-boat kills credited to the type and a number of additional "firsts" including being the first aircraft to sink an enemy U-boat for the U.S. Navy (U-656), Royal Canadian Air Force (U-754), Royal New Zealand Air Force and Brazilian Air Force. On 27 August 1941, a Hudson of No. 268 Squadron RAF operating from Iceland, attacked and damaged U-570 causing the crew to display a white flag in surrender thus achieving the unusual distinction of an aircraft capturing a naval vessel! Following Japanese attacks on Malaya, Hudsons from No. 1 Squadron RAAF also became the first aircraft to make an attack in the Pacific War, sinking the Japanese transport Awazisan Maru off Kota Bharu an hour before the attack on Pearl Harbor.

This 3-piece set actually includes two different models - (2x) gear up, "in flight" models and (1x) landing gear down model. Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills but check out the well proportioned model including the detailed canopy, the fuselage complete with windows and door, the massive Boulton-Paul dorsal turret, twin-tail assembly and even the tiny tail wheel!

While the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
