1/700 Handley Page Hampden - (x3) 3D Printed
[Hampden-700]

One of the trio of Britain's front-line twin-engined bombers available when Britain declared war on Germany in September 1939, the Hampden's lack of defensive armament made it extremely vulnerable to enemy fighters in early daylight operations. When Germany invaded Norway in the spring of 1940, however, the type became Bomber Command's first aircraft to be used on many long and hazardous aerial minelaying missions, often under the noses of German defense units. The Hampden was to find its true forté, however, as a night bomber beginning with its first raid on German soil on March 11-12, 1940 and proving that, despite its fragile appearance, it was capable of absorbing a surprising amount of battle damage.

This 3-piece set actually includes two different models - (2x) gear up, "in flight" models and (1x) landing gear down model. While photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skill models, check out the well proportioned model including the detailed canopy, glazed nose, engines, tail assembly (on that ultra slender boom) and especially the superbly rendered landing gear! Note that the resin vehicles in some of the photos are not included and are shown for scale reference only.

Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
